Cleansing Without Actually Going On A Cleanse

2012 by

When I first heard about cleansing, I thought that a cleanse meant only drinking juice or water for several days straight. It didn’t sound very fun, until I learned that there are gentle ways to cleanse, and certain food that you can eat every day which will support your body to release toxins, and the chemical build-up that came through all that we have eaten, inhaled, and touched over the course of our lifetime. We have the opportunity to cleanse each time we eat a piece of food.
Here’s why this is significant:
If any of your organs become stagnant or store up a pool of toxins, it heightens your risk of medical complications later. Plus, toxic bodies show a variety of other symptoms, like skin breakouts, constipation, and headaches.

Here are naturally cleansing foods that a fairly healthy person can eat. If you have had severe complications from toxicity, it’s important to first confirm dietary changes with your medical provider.

Bentonite clay ~ I’ve used a cleansing system for the past few years that relies on the benefits of bentonite clay mixed with juice, and I never realized the significance of this ingredient until recently. The electrical charge of clay is attracted to the charge of toxins and radiation. Once they connect, the clay pulls those toxins through our digestive tract to be released.

Pau d’arco tea – You’ll find the tea at most health food stores, and it naturally cleanses the blood and has been shown to reduce the overgrowth of bad bacteria.

Aloe vera -Aloe cleanses the digestive tract, and is soothing for people who have intestinal irritation. Some people have complications when ingesting aloe, so please consult with your healthcare provider before using it.

Seaweed and cilantro – These are 2 of my favorites to eat because they also bind to heavy metals and radiation, and then pull it from our body.

Other high fiber foods – Our body is always cleansing, and toxins are flushed to the intestines for removal. Sadly, if we are eating food without the fiber to soak up these toxins, our body reabsorbs them. Eat fresh vegetables like kale, cabbage, beets, blueberries, celery, garlic and also have flaxseed. Fresh juice can be very healing, but I prefer to blend all of the ingredients in a blender, instead of juicing them. This preserves the fibers of the plants.

You can see that it is important to eat cleansing food each day, but this is only half of the story. To renew your body in a more complete way, it’s time to eat much less of the sprayed, processed, fried, non-organic, sick food that we have so much access to. If you need my help to discover what tastes great and will benefit you most as you cleanse daily and forever, I’m always available through Ava@ParisianPicnics.com.

When We Are In Pain, We Hurt Others

2011 by

Often, when I walk around my city, I see people carrying 1-liter bottles of soda, and they drink out of these bottles like I drink water out of my SIGG bottle. These people always appear to be more uptight, visibly anxious, and they sometimes walk around in anger. I try to imagine what life is like for them, and the words fuzzy, groggy, and painful come to mind.

Take a moment to think back to a recent time when you were in physical pain. You may have had a toxic organ. It may have been menstrual cramps or a headache. It could have been a less obvious form of pain, like the inflammation of the intestines or other internal organs due to a food sensitivity. Your body ultimately knows that there is pain, and it tends to bubble to the surface through our emotions. To cope with the irritation inside us, we are sometimes irritated with other people.

It is my belief that inner toxicity leads to outer toxicity. You’ll see on the Parisian Picnics Facebook page that there is a photo album called “Happy Food = A Happier Life.” I truly believe this. When you start eating a diet of whole, clean, organic food, your body can continually clear out toxins, and clear out anger and the icky attitudes that often show up with the poisons of processed foods. I’ve noticed that people who eat well are gentle and calmer, even in stressful environments.

Your Assignment:

The next time you happen to be in pain, pay close attention to the way you interact with other people. Are you short-tempered, irritable, or easily upset? Depending on the type of pain, the physical discomfort may subside quicker with the addition of fresh natural foods, and by omitting certain ingredients. Taking out sugar, flour, milk, or other foods that you are sensitive to can also be a very helpful to ease the emotions that show up.

Give Your Stomach A Rest With The Sky Cleanse

2011 by

Several years ago, I read a suggestion in a book about taking one day each week to cleanse or fast. It’s an opportunity to rest from heavy foods, avoid gluten, sugar, and dairy, and also drink more liquids. I imagine how happy our bodies would be if we gave them a 24 hour rest from digesting each week. Not everyone is ready to commit to 1 day a week of fasting, so I began to think about other opportunities to give the body an opportunity to expel toxins and do some internal cleanup.

How about turning your travel experience into something worthwhile? On your next flight, try going on a “Sky Cleanse.” Quite often, eating in airports is done out of boredom. Did you really need to eat those tacos at 1am before your overnight flight? Did you buy coffee at Starbucks because of thirst or because of the fun factor? I know that when I’m waiting for my plane, I often munch on snacks without being very hungry, and iced tea tempts me each time.

In the next week, I am embarking upon a cleanse, and this time, I’m doing it for personal development, much more than I am for my internal organs. I’m looking for clarity of mind. Yes, I do want to physically clear out the burdens of food from my body, but my focus is to open up intuitive and spiritual channels for myself.

Cleansing does not mean that you have to stop eating. My own cleanses include fresh juice, herbal mixtures, and occasionally fresh fruits and vegetables. You can choose to keep just liquids in your own Sky Cleanse, which means that you can still grab a complimentary drink on the flight. I often choose the tomato juice, unsweetened apple juice, or sparkling water with a wedge of lime. Corn syrup from soda definitely won’t support a short cleanse.

Saying no to food at the airport or on the plane does mean that you’ll have to find other ways to keep yourself occupied, especially if you’ve got several hours to wait. Bring a book, your journal, or a project from work that truly inspires you!

Your Assignment:

Consider giving your body a rest from heavy foods the next time you fly. You could even do a “car cleanse” during one day of your next road trip. If you’d like my assistance to develop a personalized “Sky Cleanse” for the next time that you hop on a plane, feel free to contact me at Ava@ParisianPicnics.com.
